Alan Reid, Liberal Democrat MP for Argyll & Bute, has hit out at a Scottish Government threat to the court service in Argyll & Bute.
Leaked documents, prepared for the Scottish Court Service Strategic Board and seen by the "Herald", state that the Scottish Government is thinking of closing more than a third of Scotland's courts.Alan Reid MP: Argyll & Bute
Following the leak of the document, Alan Reid said;
"None of the courts in Argyll & Bute should close. People must have the right to access justice without having to travel vast distances. Public transport is few and far between in Argyll & Bute and all of the existing court buildings are essential to give people access to justice. I will oppose attempts by this SNP Government to close any of our courts."
