Commenting after attending the Fishing 2009 Conference in Glasgow, Liberal Democrat Fishing spokesperson Liam McArthur MSP said:
"There is genuine anger within the fishing community at the deal signed up to by the Fisheries Secretary in December.
"The speed and severity with which the effort control regime is hitting parts of Scotland's fishing fleet makes such anger entirely understandable.
"The Fisheries Secretary was left in no doubt about the need to address this problem now, rather than at the end of the year or as part of the CFP reform process. I very much hope the heeds this clarion wake-up call."
