Tavish Scott, Scottish Liberal Democrat leader has called on SNP Ministers to sort out their priorities, as the First Minister and Finance Secretary are in Arran while the future of the Dunfermline Building Society as an independent bank hangs in the balance.
The Finance Secretary and First Minister travelled to the island of Arran yesterday for a series of meetings today, which include launching a new ice cream flavour, a National Conversation session and announcing a funding package for the Highlands and Islands.
Commenting, Mr Scott said:
"As the future of another Scottish bank hangs in the balance, our First Minister is launching a new ice cream. Instead of working with the UK Government to save the Dunfermline Building Society, our Finance Secretary is convening another meeting of the pointless National Conversation.
"SNP Ministers need to get their priorities right. While the jobs announcement is good news for the Highlands, I'm sure that people on Arran would have understood if a more junior minister had been sent, allowing the two most senior ministers in Scotland to work on rescuing the Dunfermline Building Society."
